Topic > My freshman year - 1265

My freshman year was supposed to be my year, the year I would finally attend "Highschool". It was considered the most important year of my life, which I could only have dreamed of. You see, from 5th to 8th grade I homeschooled and went to smaller schools. High school would have been great! I thought I would finally be considered a young adult. This very year, 2012, would be the hardest year of my life. I remember this year like the back of my hand. My best friends were Jatereus, Leneice, Denise and J'Quaylon. Most of the time Leneice was not with the four of us, but always with me alone. The four of us created our own little group, "The Box", as we had known each other the longest. Leneice, on the other hand, has never had many friends. Most girls didn't like her, because their boyfriends liked her, and she liked them too. Despite everything, I was still her friend. Leneice and I were like sisters, we went to the movies, stayed at each other's houses, went shopping, everything. We even dressed alike and said we were twins, even though we look nothing alike. We soon became inseparable. Conveniently, her mother was my father's secretary, which made us even closer. Soon, things began to spiral out of control. I remember telling Leneice, “Our moms are really good friends,” and she made a face as if she had something to tell me. Common sense was not my strong suit. When things began to change, it was time for my parents' vow renewal, they would be married for ten years. My father started staying in the "office" later and later. It started to be "I'm busy or tired" when we wanted to do something. Promises began to not be kept, our bond began to break. My father was not only a stockbroker, but he was also a youth pastor at our church. , the secret was out. I knew in my heart what this secret was, but my fear made me hold back. Whoever told you "Your best friend can be your worst enemy" was right secrets, she stayed at my house, she ate our food, but she kept one thing from me. He never told me our parents were having an affair.
