This includes personal and professional goals and objectives (Baumeister & Voh, 2004). According to Vrooms' expectancy theory (1964), our behavior is the result of decisions we consciously make if we believe in our ability to complete the task. Vroom's theory was based on three beliefs; 1) Valence, this refers to the fact that the individual believes that if he behaves well, he will be rewarded and that action will cause him pain or gain. 2) Vroom suggested that an individual would rely on their own unique skills, experiences and abilities to drive their motivation thus determining their performance. 3) Instrumentally, this is based on how an individual believes completing the task will benefit them. Therefore this study will investigate the correlation between motivation and job performance. The hypothesis is that there will be a positive association between job performance and job motivation, so as motivation increases job performance increases. The null hypothesis is that motivation will have no effect on job performance.METHOD (437
