population and 14% of monthly drug users, but represent 37% of people arrested for drug crimes in America. Studies show that police are more likely to stop a search of blacks and Latinos than Caucasians. In New York City, 80% of those stopped were black and Latino, and 85% of these people were searched, compared to 8% of whites stopped. So why are African Americans more targeted than Caucasians? Statistically speaking, Caucasians are safer in the public eye than African Americans. In 2010, US sentencing commissions reported that African Americans receive 10% longer sentences than whites through the federal system for the same crimes. African Americans are the most discriminated against and stereotyped race in America. When we observe a group of people who stand out from the form, we put them in the category. The reason is not to overload ourselves with information. People are not born racist, racism is taught. People are not born to hate another race, ethnicity, or object. With everything that is happening in America, it will be difficult to stop racism before birth. Racism is something that can happen to anyone
