Mary Tyler Moore is a celebrity made famous for her various television roles in the 1960s and 1970s. Throughout her life she was able to overcome numerous adversities. Some of these adversities include divorce, death of one's child, alcoholism, miscarriage, and diabetes. His life was full of pain, difficulty and anguish. Although Mary Tyler Moore was forced to overcome many life-changing adversities throughout her life, she still lives her life today to help others overcome the difficulties of some of the same issues she herself faced. Mary Tyler Moore was born on December 29, 1936 in Brooklyn Heights, New York (Wohl). His relationship with his parents was not very loving or caring. In Mary's book, After All, she describes the kind of people her mother and father were at that time. She illustrates her father as a somewhat remote person in her life, calling him a "grumpy father" and "daunting." Although his father was a great storyteller and the other children loved this about him, he could not have cared less about their affection (Moore 8-9). However, the children still loved it and Mary says the reason was that they had fathers who held them and told them they were cute. Her father had never done anything like this to her, so she saw him a little differently (Moore 8-9). Having the ability to overcome and defeat all her adversities has made her one of the many heroes for an incredible number of people today that made her who she is now, Mary now fills her life with things like the joy of living, reading, being creative, and knowing that she is doing the right thing (MTM on Dealing). that happened to her, looks back and appreciates all the events that shaped her and made her who she is now. Of her life in general, Mary says there have been some bumps along the way. However, she says, “I have to say I did an amazing job" (Marcus).
