There are many things that drive and motivate people to go to college. Once you've decided that attending college is what you want to do, the first important step is choosing a career to know what courses you need to take. The second important step is to try to absorb as much as possible from the classes you are taking. This may assure you that it will help you in the career you choose. While in class, acting professionally and having good manners is essential because first impressions are what people remember of you. Finally, make sure you stay focused on college and don't let things or people distract you from getting your degree for your selected career. Once you've made the decision to attend college, start setting goals for yourself, such as short-term and long-term goals. If you've already decided on a career field, try to make sure it's one you'll enjoy. However, if you haven't decided on a career, that's okay, because the job market changes every day. With this in mind, we recommend taking some courses that support your academics as it pertains to the career you choose. We also recommend taking courses that will develop your computer, verbal and writing skills. Courses should be seen as an opportunity to learn more. It's a chance to absorb everything you can from the courses. This helps because if the path is difficult, it should be seen as a challenge and not as a weakness or obstacle. By taking many different courses you will learn many different things that could also be useful later in life. It would also be helpful to know what your learning style is. Determine whether you are a visual, auditory, tactile or kinesthetic reader… in the middle of the paper… at work and at mealtimes. Additionally, you should record impossible-to-study times when your time is devoted to household chores, personal jobs, family, and recreational activities. Determining how long you need to study is important because you don't want to cram or rush your studying. You should allow at least one hour of study time for every hour you spend in class. When you finish your program, you should select specific times that you will study and mark them on your schedule. In conclusion, going to college requires many things. Making sure your courses are chosen, absorbing as much as possible from those classes, behaving professionally during class, and staying focused on college are just a few of the ones I mentioned. If you apply these skills and keep yourself motivated, you can be successful in college life and life after college.
