Conservationists and ranchers who have financial problems in caring for their animals, without using hunting, can take advantage of other resources to earn income. Ranch operators must find alternatives to obtain a source of income such as acquiring sponsors, donating, conducting tours, or perhaps providing educational programs. There are more humane ways to earn money than killing animals. Capitalizing on public curiosity and interests is a resourceful tactic that can be highly successful and beneficial to the economy. In conclusion, captive hunting ranches exist and seem to thrive especially in the state of Texas. Since primitive times, people have hunted as a means of survival, although this is no longer the case. Instead, hunters who participate in captive hunting ranches hunt for the thrill and do not necessarily respect the life of the hunted animal. These hunters seem to care more about the trophy in the form of a mounted animal head than about respecting the animal's life and honoring its characteristics. The concept of "fair hunting" in these canned hunts simply does not exist. For many hunters and the general public, canned hunting that takes place on private land is an artificially expensive way to get something in name only. It cheapens the concept and challenge of hunting and respecting life for all it's worth. Since man has dominion over other creatures, it is sad that the battle is lost. The right to survive and succeed should be intrinsically good. There are a whole host of other issues that have been mentioned. Care must be taken to ensure that captive hunting is done for the right reasons. Can't man be better than prey if he doesn't think... middle of paper ...... of overcoming the cruelty that animals suffer from? Bringing these animals incurs a cost. Even supporters of these ranches justify this act by saying that shooting animals is a more humane method than allowing natural causes to take the animals. The reality is that trophy hunting actually distorts the natural breeding and population of a species. The weakest and most fragile animals are the only ones left after the stronger ones are killed first. For true activists, the important point is that this is a truly cruel and inhumane way to treat animals. Not only that, but due to the way these ranches are set up, there is a lack of regulation that eliminates the rights of these animals. Nature has always been about the survival of the fittest, but the logic of using these ranches eliminates the fittest. . Through this process, the animals' behaviors changed.
