The person I was interested in was Mrs. Louis, director of Somerset in Romania. Somerset is more of a charity, but has its own income which is given back to the workers. The workers attend sewing classes which help them develop a skill that they can use to earn an honest living, as many of these workers are classified as gypsies in many communities. Somerset also offers other types of training which could help others enrich their skills and build a broader foundation for Somerset. They have provided courses in English, computer science and mathematics that develop the core of workers. Ms Louis works closely with Ms Brown, a member of the Somerset Board of Trustees. Ms. Brown is the liaison between the United States and Romania and guides Ms. Louis in their needs and future investments.
