*I entered a local shop here in Denver, in Paris, on the platz, and I was amazed by the look of the dark-haired girls, all the same. The modern goth movement is still prevalent on the West Coast of the United States. I had previously been to Hollywood and seen a similar phenomenon. In the 80s Hollywood was full of blondes, it became a stereotype. Then came a change on the scene, this new darker image took over to match the dyed hair color, dark mysterious, femme fatalistic. Many highly educated and spiritually evolved women I know, veterans of the war for equality that occurred in the states in the 1900s seem to have taken on a new character, a new image. Instead of the image of Sophia prophesied by Jung, she has become an interesting archetype in her own right. Through the process of individualization, the process of self-empowerment, we have empowered ourselves to the point that we have forgotten to be compassionate, caring and merciful. The graces of the goddess were replaced with the protection of the ancient images about the male gods. Now we have women who are apparently better than their male counterparts at being masculine. Was this the original purpose of equal rights between the sexes? We want women to have the same opportunities as men; not being forced into a life of kitchen duties and raising children against their will, having the right to decide for themselves who they would vote for or against, to choose how to benefit our society according to their own intuition and prerogative. This is a fairly new feat, occurring within the last hundred years in the United States. It often seems that we are recreating the rules, the image of femininity is transformed into something that is not...... paper......but could prove to be a good spokesperson for the women of the ancient city. Still raw and primitive, mothers and daughters owned the land who, with the help of their male counterparts, worked to produce the sustenance of gods and humans. There appears to be a difference in the leadership of Uruk, the city of Inanna, and Umma, the city of Nintud. In the grand scheme of things, that was their function, Victory and Mercy. In Enki and the World Order, Enki first chooses to bring the water of the Euphrates to Nintu, as the myths [break]: "Lillith, on the other hand, symbolizes raw female power, the cave woman which could not be dragged by the water". hair, another aspect of female power and assertiveness in the world that Inanna had to conquer with her own choices and actions. What we have here are the fears and insecurities of a young goddess searching for her femininity and royalty."
