Pocahontas' great civilization generated great moral and financial support for future missionary adventures in the new land. Unfortunately Pocahontas never returned home from London, her body was not used to the pollution and cold of London and she was soon struck by foreign diseases which led to her final death in March 1617. After Pocahontas' death a another war between the colonies. and the Powhatan, and another even more devastating war was just four years away. While it wasn't just Pocahontas who kept the peace, without her the Powhatans and the English would have torn each other to pieces much sooner than they did. If Pocahontas had not "saved" John Smith, the English would have attacked and potentially wiped out the Powhatans. And if Pocahontas hadn't married Rolfe when she waged the first Anglo-Powhatan War, perhaps it would never have ended as suddenly as it did. If it were not for Pocahontas' courage and sacrifices, the Jamestown Colonies and the Powhatans might never have survived.
