Advantages of Homeschooling Homeschooling can be a very controversial issue. When deciding whether it's a good choice, sometimes there isn't a black or white answer, but a gray area that makes it difficult for some parents to decide whether it's the best decision. According to Shaw, homeschooling is becoming more popular every day, with a growth rate of 7 to 15 percent per year (Shaw, “The Pros and Cons of Homeschooling”). In this article, the benefits of homeschooling will be discussed, such as freedom, relationships, and most importantly, well-being. Homeschooling offers four types of freedom; educational, physical, emotional and religious (Shaw). Not all children learn at the same rate, so the educational freedom of learning at their own pace can help a student really focus on the areas they struggle with.
