I recently read a survey on the Internet about the Christian view of God. 46% of respondents believe that God is a God of wrath and judgment. 16% believed that God hated sinners and was a God of punishment. Among all those surveyed, only 20% believed that God was a God of love and that he loved everyone. There were a couple of other categories listed, but what was eye-opening and shocking to me was how many Christian believers are in denial! Essentially, all but that 20% believe that God is a God of rejection, just waiting to reject, judge, and punish. Satan is the prince of this world and Jesus said that the world would hate you if you believed in him because he hated it first. . The entire world ideology is based on a sea of rejection in all its shapes and forms. It's known as the dog eat dog world for a reason. As smart as he is, the enemy has planted the seed of rejection in the hearts of the body of believers through the lie that God lives to punish lack of perfection in performance. This is nothing but the underlying root of rejection. This has bred hypocrisy, bigotry, sectarianism, quitting, anger, hatred and many more isms in the church than we care to admit. Critical words, condemnation of others, judgmental attitudes towards others in the form of hypocrisy are all factors that form Satan's kingdom based on rejection. Many groups unite in criticizing other groups and in a group of that nature there is unity in criticism and judgment. The people of that group are united and accept each other, while condemning those who disagree. They feel justified the more people they convince to be on their side. According to historical and biblical accounts Jesus went through...... middle of paper ...... our life will be centered on work. What is your desire in life? If we die to ourselves every day we will be able to give up our fleshly desires for God's desires. So many people don't understand this concept and feel that it is a path of destitute sacrifice and are not willing to accept it. I can assure you that this path may seem like a lack but it is anything but a lack. God will meet you at whatever level you desire to reach. If you focus on him first, the rest will follow, but if you are world-bound the potential loss of worldly things will instill fear in your heart and you will fall. If you try to walk with one foot in the world and the other in the kingdom of God you will find yourself in a turmoil plagued by questions and chaos. You can have all the good things in this world, but you must first be willing to give up everything to do it.
