Restore the minimum wage, free college education, ecological restoration, racial and gender equality, open border migration, ban all credit reporting agencies etc. (Anonymous, 2011). These demands are expected to create many jobs in the long term. One thing that was missing from this protest was the clear demand and saying of the occupiers: the problem is capitalism! Capitalism is based on unlimited achievement, on the permanent maintenance of an underclass, on the deliberation of wealth in the hands of the 1%, on the exploitation of human labor and, ultimately, on the destruction of our planet. Just as Karl Marx predicted, the dynamics of social class and capital would eventually dry up the working class and thus create a social context suitable for a revolution. Capitalism is that system that allows only a few individuals to have control and power, not only in the workplace, but in society at large.
