William Wordsworth Reflects on the Past Imagine five years from now. Driving the streets, where you took your old friends to places you remember listening to the radio, looking at the shops that were once your favorite hangouts, taking your common shortcuts. Clearly you will have remembered great and sad memories, and when you return, both memories will return to the places where they happened. Immerse yourself in your past; you probably wouldn't be shocked about some things that haven't changed in your hometown, such as your high school still being on the same street or your favorite restaurant still having the same menu. As you take the time to think about yourself five years ago, driving down that road, remembering, you will most likely be surprised at how much hasn't changed since then. Gradually, you have a flashback of how you were as a teenager, how you saw the environment around you and what was significant.
