The Roaring '20s was a time in history where jazz music was becoming popular, the flapper was the new definition of modern femininity, art deco was at its peak and the Wallstreet Crash occurred for the first time leading to the Great Depression. The Roaring Twenties were known as the post-World War I period. The phase was popular all over the world but especially in North America, London and Paris. The Roaring Twenties phase arrived and was intended to accentuate the social, artistic and cultural dynamism of the period within that era. During this time technology reached an all-time high and was seen in every home, it was as if it had become a way of life. Technology was at the top of its game during this time. We had new inventions like the automobile, flight, and mass transmission. Previously the automobile was seen or known as a luxury item and only those who could afford them owned them, but by the 1920s the vehicles were mass produced and were commonly seen. Alfred Sloan, president of General Motors, began to devote more time to automotive styling. Its technical advances of the decade included four-wheel brakes, automatic engine temperature control, shock absorbers, automatic choking, and adjustable rides; all this improved the driving and comfort of the car (Rose,216). Aviation was big in the 1920s. The first airplanes developed were made of wood and canvas, they were later modernized and made with an increasing amount of metal during this era. Airplanes were generally only used for carrying heavy loads and for warfare, but during this era they were able to begin carrying passengers as well. It wasn't until 1927 that an airport terminal in the form of a waiting room and ticket office for airline passengers... middle of paper... art and business ethics help shape our economy today.
