The argument proposed by Marks is consensual; Marks points out a big problem in America and presents his opinion with facts and examples, but at the same time states something that could solve the problem. His tone and voice in this article are very academic and erudite. It is informing the public about an issue and addressing its main points. Marks uses a couple of logical fallacies like: personal attack and after that it's the same for this. Marks uses the personal attack lightly when he talks about children being rude to their elders and when he talks about lawyers and the government as two great promoters of incivility. With the other logical fallacy, Marks summarizes that incivility could be caused by the development of society over time. He blames the rise of incivility in America on music, talk shows and the way children are raised. As far as his points and what he is trying to inform the public about, I have to say I agree. Incivility in America is a big problem that needs to be addressed, and in my opinion, it is caused by all the things that surround people. Marks uses law, pop culture, and government to support his argument. With these three categories I agree when it comes to the major influences on incivility in America.
