Topic > The Pros and Cons of Transportation - 1915

Everyone drives cars and buses, flies planes or helicopters, some people even take boats or ferries. But what started it all? They didn't just fall from the sky or appear out of nowhere. Something had to be done to create these vehicles, so what was it? How could we start from a simple floating log to become a huge flying metal tube? The improvement of transportation from ancient times to the Middle Ages to modern times is probably the most useful of all advances in human technology. Other aspects of human technology fall short of the path blazed by their ancestors. Every day they can be seen hurtling down the highway, soaring through the sky, leaping across the water in great leaps like a frog across a pond. Anything that can move people or goods from one place to another can be described as transportation. All those cars, trains, planes and boats needed foundations to build on and couldn't have just been invented one day. The first use of transportation was travel on foot. Everywhere it was done by walking and using manpower. Using only his own body required too much time and energy, so man decided to use animals. The domestication of animals took a long time. Some of the first domesticated animals were horses, camels, and donkeys. The animals were used as rides, transporters, farm laborers, and the like. Transportation has changed significantly since the beginning of man. We started with nothing but our feet and the ground beneath. Quadrupedalism was the first step of our ancestors: moving on all four limbs entailed enormous disadvantages in daily life. Moving all four required large amounts of energy to expend on movement and was quite slow. Our spines were bent at an odd angle compared to where they are today. Also being on all fours meant a larger exposed area for a......middle of paper......gy!Another advance was due to the mixing of planes, boats and automobiles. The propulsion engine. This engine uses plasma and electrical ions and generates them in concentrated beams that travel away from that point. This engine is used in space on the space station, satellites, rockets, shuttles and all types of space travel vehicles because it requires no fuel and can simply run on electricity generated by solar panels. In conclusion we can see that the improvements in transportation from ancient times to the Middle Ages to modern times is probably the most useful of all advances in human technology. Other aspects of human technology fall short of the path blazed by their ancestors. Since all that is shown here is only the superiority of the Homo Sapiens species over all others and how we are the most intelligent, constructive and creative beings on our planet.
