Males wore shoes while women did not but had chains around their ankles, which may suggest that women are less important and seen as slaves to males. religious/worship performance and banners (400) Performance by Mike Kelleys Extracurricular Activity Projective Reconstruction, 'Day is Done' involves taking a single photograph found within an extracurricular activity project from a school brochure, or photographs from theater productions inside the school or photographs from yearbooks. From this single photograph he would create a musical performance. He was studying and exploring American popular culture as part of the schools activities while producing these performances. Kelley suggested that the schools' activities should be performed in a very ritualized way and ritualized making them parallel to artistic production. Siouxsie Sioux was a big influence for this piece, she is an English singer and songwriter, best known for being the lead singer of a rock band. called Siouxsie and the Banshees starting in 1976. Mike Kelley was very interested in punk and rock music in his childhood. Looking from the audience's perspective this piece could however be portrayed in a very different light, and the meanings could be quite different from Mike Kelley's current theory on this piece. Inside the performance there is a woman in dark clothes with a very white face in contrast, on her forehead there is a symbol "For you I will interpret, the ruin on my forehead, it is a secret sign, of my design” > which means in mathematical terms 'greater than' 'I am beyond mathematics, my sign is greater than'' implying that the woman is powerful and authoritative, making her seem omniscient and trustworthy.
