He seems to like hanging out with the rich, carless people who are always at Gatsby's parties. Nick may be polite and easy to get along with on the outside, but he's not afraid to tell it like it is. He has what many other characters lack: personal integrity, and his sense of right and wrong helps him rate himself above others. Each character played a drastic role in this book in how they responded to conflict and how they avoided it. There is a conflict involving Nick because he is trying to refrain from judging, even though he is sometimes unable to do so due to the amount of moral corruption he sees around him. He can't seem to accept the things he sees as beneficial and declares to Gatsby that he is worth "all things put together." Nick and Jordan Baker had an unusual relationship. They were both quite attracted to each other. At the end of the novel he even goes so far as to say that he was half in love with her. HeRhodes 4 regretfully rejects Jordan because he has to come to condemn the values she accepts and the lifestyle she lives. At the beginning of the novel Nick's conflicts intersect. While he hates everything that Gatsby seems to represent. I feel it towards the end
