American ranchers use business and technological skills to raise livestock. Even with these abilities, they are still at the mercy of Mother Nature and gamble with her every year. Farming goes beyond hunting cows and riding horses. Farmers are businessmen. They carefully manage the expenses, income and taxes of their operations like other typical businessmen.
