Teen pregnancy is a problem for everyone involved. It really puts a strain on young parents, especially the new teenage mother, and also the new grandparents, who more often than not end up helping raise the new baby while the young parents are in school, or while they are enjoying adolescence and socialize with your friends. We need to stop the spread of this epidemic before the dreams of more young adults are shattered by the responsibility of parenthood. Through strong parental guidance and support, adequate media exposure, and more readily available birth control, this problem can be brought under control. A large number of teenagers are reluctant to have to talk about sex with their parents, they feel offensive. There are many forms of birth control. The issue of condom use has led some to argue that they should be readily available to teenagers, I really think there are other forms of birth control that are more effective, such as the pill, and that girls should receive proper education to be able to do it. make the right choices when it comes to protection. Condoms are important to use, don't get me wrong, but many times they can break or be ineffective. Plus, let's face it, in the heat of the moment not having a condom doesn't always stop this from happening. Pregnant teenagers often delude themselves into thinking that if they are overwhelmed by passion, they are actually not at fault; it is simply an accident. According to the Centers for Disease Control, “In 2010, teen pregnancies and births accounted for at least $9.4 billion in costs to U.S. taxpayers due to increased health care and foster care, increased rates of incarceration among children of teenage parents and loss of tax revenue due to low educational attainment. performance and income among teenage mothers” (CDC, 2014) The birth control pill is a more effective and inexpensive form of birth control. If the pill were cheaper and easier to obtain, more teenagers would be protected and fewer would receive it
