Alexander the Great: Hero or VillainAlexander the Great was a ruler of almost all of Asia and Europe. During Alexander's reign he built a great empire using heroism and respect. He may have killed many people during his time, but he did so to protect others from harm and injustice. Many people believe that Alexander is a ruthless heartless killer, but in reality he was not a ruthless killer and had a heart that showed many people were treated unfairly. The Thebans When Alexander and his army marched into the Theban Empire, he wanted nothing more than peace. Alexander sent a letter to the Thebans inviting anyone to join him in sharing the peace that all Greeks enjoyed. Unfortunately, the Thebans responded to that letter by saying that "all Macedonians who wanted to join them in overthrowing the Greek tyrant were welcome to join them."
