People outside of a relationship, and who have never experienced the trauma of intimate partner violence, have a tendency to blame the victim for remaining convinced that it should logically be It's easy for the victim to leave such a relationship. Those relationships don't start with violence but end like this; the partner eventually leaves, dies at the hands of the abuser, or, in some cases, kills the abuser. Intimate partner violence can happen to anyone, but it is widely known that it can happen to women and is a major health problem for women globally (Bartol et al., 2015). Therefore, to reduce the occurrence of violence, addressing society's perceptions and attitudes towards intimate partner violence is a necessary step as victim blaming is still extremely common (Gracia, 2014). Within societies that changed laws towards women, subjugated laws had helped various forms of intimate partner violence to be considered cultural at the time.
