Today what they saw then could be depicted the same or different. Both represent a god or king of their time. Both pieces made from the easy material that the Egyptians had available. Carved limestone and carved wood were easy access to make these divine works of art. The times to make these pieces were drastically different. Obviously the Great Sphinx took longer to build, given its size and the material they had to sculpt. Many had to work to build and finish this monument to their king.
