I incorporate Erickson's modeling and role modeling theory into my daily nursing practice. The latest advances in healthcare would not be possible without nurses, who strive to make continuous improvements and advancements in healthcare. By successfully completing my journey to becoming a nurse practitioner, I am working towards better opportunities and advancements in healthcare. I plan to use the advancements and new developments I learn throughout my nursing journey to give back to my community. When I was a new nurse, my preceptor taught me to treat each patient as I would have treated my grandmother. Once I gained some experience, I began treating each patient as I wanted to be treated. I also learned that it is very important to treat all patients the same. I provide prisoners, patients who have no insurance or money, and patients who have donated millions of dollars to our hospital the same quality care. Even if I am only with the patient for a short time, I try to learn as much as possible about my patient, which allows me to give them great help.
