Fluorescent BulbsFor beautiful views, illuminated buildings at night and even shows that rely on special effects to keep programs going; all these things and much more are possible thanks to lights! Although fluorescent bulbs are inexpensive and provide good lighting, they can have serious adverse effects on a person's eyes after prolonged use. It's amazing how the use of fluorescent light bulbs has become so popular and has taken the world by storm. Be it offices, businesses or even homes, these bulbs are replacing the more expensive regular bulbs. People are deciding to change and use these bulbs because they are inexpensive. This affordable price is one thing that attracts consumers, but the illumination of these bulbs speaks for itself. They emit superior illumination and illuminate a room in a way that other bulbs cannot (Peterson 1). The origins of fluorescent lighting date back to 1927 when Frederick Meyers, Hans, Spanner and Edmund Germer, (who at the time were employees of a German company based in Berlin), patented a fluorescent lamp (Potash 1). thought this was one of the best ideas at the time because of the way they were made; unlike others, fluorescent bulbs are coated on the inside to increase efficiency. When they were invented, beryllium (a gray metallic element -light, hard, brittle and corrosion-resistant white) was used as a coating for light bulbs (Parker 58), however beryllium proved to be toxic and was replaced with safer fluorescent chemicals. Fluorescent light bulbs work by moving a stream of electrons through a fluorescent tube. The fluorescent tube works around an inelastic diffusion of incident electrons... in the middle of the paper... even if their pockets are saving money because in any case they will end up wasting a considerable amount of money for your health with fluorescent light bulbs.
