During this phase students are given several problems/tasks similar to those presented in the previous models. This section of unprompted practice should initially be monitored by the teacher to provide feedback and corrections if necessary. This practice continues until the skill becomes automatic. This step demonstrates that students have an understanding of the concept and a high accuracy rate. The fifth and final essential element of education is regular reviews. At the end of the lesson, the teacher can provide a quick summary of what has been learned, preview what will be learned next, and, if appropriate, assign independent work. You then need to review the learned skill on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure the skill is still fresh and relevant. If the skill is maintained in practice, it will be easier for students to remember the information later and therefore reduce the time needed for initial revision. These six essential elements of education are critical for students to learn and retain concepts important to their education. The teacher is responsible for knowing these components and how to implement them
