Against the Death Penalty states that the death penalty does not effectively deter crime. The United Nations General Assembly has stated: “There is no conclusive evidence of the deterrent value of the death penalty” (“Against the Death Penalty”). It is also stated that the casual application of the death penalty can never be ruled out. “The death penalty is often used disproportionately against the poor, minorities, and members of racial, ethnic, political, and religious groups” (“Against the Death Penalty”). In reality, no one deserves to die. Life is too precious, and no matter what the person has done, they don't deserve to die. There are people who don't want the death penalty to be abolished, but research shows that the death penalty costs millions of dollars every year, the way prisoners are executed is cruel, and innocent people are also executed. Clayton Lockett died painfully from the mixture and the drugs one doctor sedated him and so did many others. There have been executions in Alabama, Texas and Florida where there was no physical evidence linking them to the crimes they had "committed" and the police did not thoroughly investigate the crime scene and after their execution they found that the prisoners would could have been
