In this study I tested the height of the male population of Valdosa State University. I randomly selected males through a modified convenience sampling method in which I chose the first ten males I saw and was able to take measurements in five different buildings around campus (Student Recreation Center, Student Union, Nevins Hall, Odum Library, and Bailey Science Center) for a total of fifty. I measured each buck with a tape measure and marked off each measurement to the nearest eighth of an inch and recorded the data. I did research and found that a good margin (between 88% and 92%) of Valdosta State students are from Georgia and Through further research I found that the average height of males in Georgia is around 5'11 '' or 71 inches. I used this as I have: µ=71 inches because I'm 5'11'' and feel short in most places at this university. So I assumed that Ha: µ≠71 inches and tested my data against the average I was given. I found that the average (X ¯) was 70.7165 inches, which was not much lower than the average Georgia male height. The standard deviation for the sample was found to be ...
