As a teenager, I always appreciated the tranquility of walking and running on the trail. I was never the fastest sprinter; however, I have qualified in a few Cross-Country Canada races. Today I still choose to walk to and from school, even though I've stopped running. What did running offer me? Why wasn't this enough? I have decided to apply again. As an alternative to running, I ran on an incline. Some things are done for their own sake and some for something else (Ross, 1999). I ran on an incline to achieve satisfaction and self-confidence in the way my body looked. This is one of many ends, the immediate end. The end to which the potential of my body coincides with that of my mind. My mind is the result of vigorous cultivation through experience, decisions, knowledge, awareness, etc. The purpose for which I can feel beautiful, a physical virtue attributed by my psyche; a psyche that desires to develop. On the first day of running, I was warned to limit the length of the run. According to Aristotle, the soul is composed of two portions, the rational and the irrational part (Ross, 1999).
