This is a question I ask myself daily and still can't understand. I shudder every time I hear about the evils of the world and it saddens me to be separated from it all. Here is my personal opinion. I believe God allows hardships to come into our lives to make us better. I feel that life is like a test that we can pass or fail. We really can't help but follow paths but we can choose what attitude to have when faced with certain situations. Romans 5:3-5, And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character; Hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because God's love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. I also believe that the poor choices of others affect everyone. I think there is a ripple effect that occurs when evil is present. I feel like bad things can happen to good people because of others' bad choices in life. I also think that when a person has a strong personal relationship with God, the devil tries to interfere. In the book of Job, God allowed Satan to do whatever he wanted to Job, except kill him. Job's reaction to all his hardships "Though he slay me, yet I hope in him." “The Lord gave, and the Lord took away; Praise be to the name of the Lord." Job didn't fully understand why God allowed the things he did, but he knew that God was good and so he continued to trust in him. Ultimately, I think Job set a great example for humanity to follow. In my personal life I have experienced trials and tribulations. I don't understand why certain things happen to me but I continue to remain strong in my faith.
