Many victims do not report this behavior for fear of losing their job. I looked at the workplace policies and procedures of a company called MEGT to see how they address workplace bullying. It is a non-profit organization based in Australia. The company supports local employers, apprentices, trainees, jobseekers and students. MEGT is committed to providing quality employment, training and education options. The organization encourages interpersonal relationships and does not tolerate bullying in the workplace. The company addresses the fact that workplace bullying can sometimes cause unintentional distress. This includes direct or indirect (intentional, where actions are intended to humiliate, offend, intimidate or distress) or inadvertent (where actions which, although unintentional, should reasonably have been expected to cause such an effect) bullying. Furthermore, their policy is not limited to actions that only occur in the work environment during working hours. In some cases, interactions in person or in cyberspace, such as on Facebook, Instagram and other social media outside of the workplace and normal working hours, may also be considered workplace bullying.
