My grandma and I were always going on adventures, whether it was a bike ride to the local Methodist church or going to a softball game, we were never short of activity. One of my favorite things to do with my grandmother was to take a walk in Kiwanis Park, which was right across the street from the railroad tracks, about three blocks from Grandma. We'd grab a loaf of bread and feed the fluffy ducks and stop at the Flagpole ice cream shop for a cone on the way home. Once we returned to grandma's, we prepared dinner for grandpa, excellent meat and noodles. Grandma's house was my safe haven; no one could harm me there; she made sure of it. After dinner we would talk and she would read me stories and we would enjoy each other's company. My grandmother never asked too many questions, she just knew. He knew what I needed when I needed it and how to provide it to me. It was and still is my best
