Spirit for me is my inner core. It's what helps me connect with others and with nature. Let me illustrate what eating healthy means to me. When I consume home grown produce or organic produce in my diet, I can feel the difference it makes on me as a whole. Now, when I eat junk food or drink high-sugar drinks, I can feel how it slows me down in every way. This is usually when I start to feel drained emotionally, mentally and physically. Now, if I feel drained, do you think I'll want to go to the gym? Well, if I do it's because I'm pushing myself to go. When I eat good foods and go to the gym, it helps me eliminate all the stressors of the day or week. So exercise gives me this spiritual freedom of life's demands. Moving on to sleep and how it affects my spirit. Many times I go to sleep listening to a meditation. This helps me fall asleep and puts me into a deep, relaxing sleep. If I'm rested it helps me be a little happier. I live more in a positive outlook. It also helps me keep an open mind to what others have to offer in terms of suggestions.
