The main purpose of this essay is to analyze an excerpt from my chosen film "Bourne Identity (2002)", discussing the different techniques used in the extracted clip, such as on-screen graphics . The main goal of this essay is to discuss how "sound establishes moods and may even drive the entire atmosphere of a film, guiding its narrative [1]", (human voice, sound effects and music ). In my conclusion I intend to provide a synopsis on Bourne Identity as an additional appendix to this essay. I will first begin to discuss the clip I have chosen for the duration of this essay, in the opening scene which opens with fishermen happily playing cards aboard their boat, waiting for the current storm, which has interrupted the possibility of catching some fish. When one of the seven fishermen goes on deck, he finds an unexpected type of fish, which is in the shape of a man whose injured body is discovered by the fisherman, Jason Bourne, who is then reeled in as a fish, who is then nursed. returned to full health after receiving multiple gunshot wounds to his lower and upper back. During the opening sequence, the audience is introduced to the sound of crashing waves and striking thunder, which could represent an introduction to a powerful, supernatural, out-of-this-world human being who has just fallen to earth, similar to the opening scene of "Terminator (1984)". Thunder represents a strong amount of energy and dynamics in the atmosphere. Although this clip is an essential viewing experience for the audience, the audience still cannot ignore the powerful background noise, coming from the thunder and lights.
