Word processing has only improved my ability to write, edit, and become a better teacher. The ability to easily manipulate and edit words in a live document is the primary reason for using word processors to improve the writing process. It is no longer necessary to cut, glue and lay strips of paper on the floor. As seen personally and with current students, revisions, edits, and feedback are easily accomplished with word processing programs. Of course, if students are not adequately taught good writing skills, word processors are meaningless. Word processors are just another form of technology to facilitate teaching, teachers do not teach the technology, but rather the subject (in this case, the writing process).
