In a general sense, Hamlet is a contemplative character and in any normal sense this may not have led to a problem. Hamlet throughout the play hesitates and questions the correctness of his plans for revenge, and also seems to question whether his motives are genuine. However, being a member of the royal family tends to put him in more negative and stressful situations than a normal character would have. This causes his engagement with words to reach such a high standard that it almost paralyzes him
