Most millionaires have worked 45-55 hours a week their entire lives and are now retired with money. Half of millionaires have wives who stay home to cook, clean and care for the children. Most are first generation and own homes. These facts surprised me. I thought being rich meant being young and only working 40 hours a week. I thought male millionaires had wives who earned a second income to help accumulate wealth. I figured most millionaires owned homes, but I thought they lived in big houses in “rich” neighborhoods, not a regular house. I thought someone was born rich and then that wealth was passed down from generation to generation. If you ask what an average person thinks when they hear the word rich, they will describe someone who owns a lot of luxury goods. However, after reading The Millionaire Next Door, I learned that millionaires are happier saving than spending
