Topic > Nagel Mind Body Problem - 1148

These people believe that the body is a physical matter. However, for them the brain is composed of two different things: physical matter where all chemical reactions occur and at the same time a mental process where all mental states occur. Let's take a closer look at this point of view. In my opinion they are combining two other points of view into one. They accept the physical matter of the brain with their chemical reactions to food, pain and love. At the same time, they leave room for a mental process in which all these reactions are processed and felt. These are the three points of view into which the Body-Mind problem is divided. Even if we focus only on the example of eating a chocolate bar, in Nagel's book, this can be applied to all feelings. An example could be the feeling of anxiety I feel right now because I want to finish this essay and get a good grade or the feeling of love that people feel when they see or kiss the person they desire.
