Andy Garafallo has made his mark in the restaurant industry. His vast knowledge combined with a genuine appreciation for clients and staff have, in large part, contributed to 25 years of success. At the heart of Andy's approach to business is a philosophy focused on integrity and ethical choices. In this regard, Andy's focus on consistency and customer satisfaction has played an important role in his longevity in the industry. Andy's supportive approach to people management has also contributed to his overall success. By taking on the position of both a teacher and a coach, Andy has been able to transform people into effective employees, allowing them to excel in his business and the industry as a whole. Employee Deficiencies Recently, Andy noticed deficiencies in three staff members who make up his leadership team. Although Danielle, Kelly and Patrick have worked at the restaurant for several years, Andy has identified areas for improvement in an effort to sustain the business and promote the skills of each individual member of staff. As a senior employee, Danielle has developed strong social judgment in line with Andy's customer service philosophy. Unfortunately, however, Danielle has lower overall crystallized cognitive ability when it comes to working with numbers. While her social skills aid Danielle's direct contact with customers on the restaurant's front end, a difficulty with numbers limits her ability to resolve issues related to billing requests and front-end budgeting. Kelly, who works on the back end of the restaurant, excels in her responsibilities ordering for the kitchen and preparing food. Although Kelly has a high level of motivation related to completing… half of the paper… leadership contributes to organizational success. Helping Danielle, Kelly, and Patrick improve their leadership weaknesses will likely allow Andy to improve the restaurant's overall operations. Although Andy's restaurant is currently successful, attention to deficiencies in his personal leadership style may be needed in the future. Preparing for a time when a critical examination of profit margins will be necessary will allow Andy to maintain his success for the next 25 years. Works Cited Boone, L.W., & Peborde, M.S. (2008).
