We increase our intelligence by learning from other people's theories and ideas, we cannot develop as an individual and as a nation without knowledge of other nations or individuals. It would be difficult to believe that an individual has never acted selfishly in his life. Furthermore, if an individual has not destroyed anything, he is still part of the destruction, for example the United States has destroyed many other nations just for its own benefit. Hitler and the Nazis are not the first to have done all these things, but it is infuriating that they accused others of being all of these things. Cesaire's Discourse on Colonialism is about his perspective of colonialism and everything related to it, but for the purposes of this article I will focus on how he characterizes colonialism.
