Since organized sports became the norm, "we have forgotten the child in all of us." (O'Sullivan). He says sport should be about “seeing” each child as an individual and letting kids model and develop the game itself to play and learn whatever sport they are playing. (O'Sullivan). As O'Sullivan states, children should expect to win or lose and learn that it is just a game. Parents and coaches should be role models and teach kids the fundamentals of the sport, support them through everything, and just say, “I love watching you play.” (O'Sullivan). Get rid of all the useless trophies and certificates and have a big social event at the end of the season. We can't all be young forever. The world won't end if some kid doesn't score the touchdown or the winning goal. It's just a game. Let the kids enjoy being young and carefree while they can
