According to the VA, homeless veterans are mostly single males who live in large cities and who tend to suffer from illness and/or abuse (“Homeless Veterans FAQ” ). This definition implies that men constitute the entire veteran population. This is not the case, but they constitute the majority. Women make up approximately 8% of homeless veterans, as stated by the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans in the report "National Coalition for Homeless Veterans: Homeless Female Veterans." for the minority their number plays like homeless veterans but it is still important that they are kept in mind and given a solution just like homeless veterans
