When parents and teachers understand the potential cause of why bullies decide to behave in a bullying manner. They can make the decision to show their children that bullying is not right and could help prevent it in the future. Studies show that “Over 77% of students have been bullied” (No bullying.com). Before explaining why people bully, defining what a bully is would be a useful tool to know what bullying is. Bullying could be thought of as intentionally taking control over someone through verbal abuse and physical abuse. Most verbal abuse begins with teasing or threats. Another type of abuse could be violence “Using force or superior influence to intimidate (someone), usually to force them to do what you want” (The Free Dictionary). Bullies may have been mistreated or witnessed violence at home. Bullies aren't born super villains. These bullies are raised from a young age, learning from their family. Most bullies encounter problems at home. Problems at home that they may be experiencing could be physical or verbal abuse that may be plaguing these children. At a young age, a child's mind can be extremely fragile and highly impressionable. Most of the problems that bullies might have include abuse, lack of attention and inability to handle conflicts in the home, in addition to the article Stomp Out Bullying, they stated that "A common reason why the boy is a bully is because the lack of attention from a parent at home and lashes out at the attention of others.” Some of the problems these children may face are that their parents have divorced or are influenced by drugs. After what they see at home, the child begins to imitate the bad guy in the house and these bullies have no idea how their behavior and actions can destroy the... middle of paper... even your parent. You can't be yourself with them your top priority and want undue influence on your life.” The bad guys push the button to motivate and get an emotional response from their victim, only to expose their weakness to the parents and teacher of why bullies decide to behave in a bullying way, they can make the decision to show their children that bullying doesn't exist. The effect of bullying might result in hurting others and the bullies might become criminals in the future and these bullies show a lack of communication skills, but fortunately there are programs for them, like the church and today many schools have a policy and these bullies should get more involved in their community and find out what happens when children are bullied and how bullying can lead to suicide.
