Topic > 5 Festivals to Experience This Fall in Korea

Sometimes when you travel, you need something to make your trip truly spectacular! Going back and forth to Korea for the past 3 years, if there's one thing I certainly like, it's that South Korea isn't short on festivals or parties. If you're traveling to the land of some of Asia's biggest festivals, here are the 5 festivals I recommend in Seoul and Busan. Can't make them this year? It's not a problem! I have selected the annual festivals so that you can plan your future trip accordingly! Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? National and international film screenings, a BIFF shop and so much more, it's crazy. This is a must-see festival for film fans and I am personally excited about this year's opening film. Ticket information can be found HERE on the official BIFF website along with other event details. Seoul International Fireworks Festival and Busan International Fireworks Festival Seoul IFF on October 6, Busan IFF on October 27. I lumped these two together because of obvious similarities, but I haven't just been to Seoul's annual fireworks show. And a spectacle it is! Fireworks accompanied by lights, lasers, the whole multimedia sha-bang that reminded me of Thunder of Louisville, my hometown fireworks display – only bigger and brighter! Taking place along the Han River at Yeouido Hangang Park and perfected since 2000, there's everything from food trucks, events, performances, a market and more starting at 1pm. The opening ceremony is at 7 and features more than 100,000 fireworks. My tips for you if you go are: bring something with sleeves so you can wear (mosquitoes and sometimes freezing wind) and take the subway as there will be checkpoints for buses. Jeon-ju Bibimbap Festival October 25 to October 28 Moving away from Seoul and Busan, I have only been to one festival outside of these two cities and that is the Jeon-ju Bibimbap festival. An entire 3-day event dedicated just to Bibimbap! This is where I learned everything I know about one of Korea's most famous dishes. Cooking competitions, sampling different recipes from around the world, and even a place where you can learn to make it yourself and make a huge bowl of Bibimbap at the United Bibimbap grand opening event. And I mean huge. There is a lot to see, eat, do, eat, experience and eat during this festival. What makes it better is that it is held in Jeon-ju Hanok Village and Korean Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall. Entry is free and starts at 11am. Seoul Lantern Festival November to November 18 The 10th anniversary of the Seoul Lantern Festival will take place in the center of Seoul, along the 1.2km waterway of CheongGyeCheon Stream. This year's theme, "Seoul Dream, Flowing Light", will feature hundreds of lanterns made by both local and international artists, divided into 4 different categories: Sparkling Memories, Dreaming of a Future, Traditional flow and New Dream. . Some well-known events are competitions both at the festival and on social media, making your own lanterns, sending wish lanterns (those released for flying), and much more. Busan One Asia Festival, scheduled for October 20-28. Last but not least, one of my favorites, the Busan One Asia Festival! Busan One Asia Festival is a.
