Topic > Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Book Review

My book review is about Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I chose this book because I love Harry Potter and decided to read it. It was first published on July 2, 1998. First there was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and after Chamber of Secrets there was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Say no to plagiarism. He discovers that he is actually a wizard and has been invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry lives with his aunt and uncle in Surrey, England. He goes to school at Hogwarts, which is in Scotland. JK Rowling said that Harry was born on July 31, 1980. The main story begins when he is 11 years old, which means it is set during the 1990s. Harry finishes his last year at Hogwarts in 1998. Harry's horrible uncle, aunt, and cousin keep him trapped in the house with no one to keep him company except his snow-white owl, Hedwig. She fears that the magical life she once had at Hogwarts was just a dream. Her summer is sucking, until a house elf from the wizarding world appears in her room. Dobby, the house elf, warns Harry that danger awaits him at Hogwarts. Hogwarts was his first real home where he finally had real friends. Dobby causes destruction downstairs specifically to discourage Harry from coming back. Harry's horrible Uncle Vernon is outraged and locks Harry in his room. In the middle of the night, Harry hears a noise outside. His friend Ron and his twin brothers came to save him. Harry escapes Privet Drive and they fly to the Burrow, the Wesleys' home. Mrs. Weasley is happy to see Harry in the morning, although she is angry at her children for running away at night. The Weasleys and Harry go to Diagon Alley to buy their things for Hogwarts. In Diagon Alley they see Harry's other best friend, Hermione. They also meet Draco and his father, Lucius. Harry also meets Gilderoy Lockhart, his new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Harry and the Wesleys leave for the Hogwarts Express station. Harry and Ron cannot enter the station so they travel in Ron's flying car, following the Hogwarts Express. Harry and Ron arrive safely at Hogwarts, after being beaten by the willow tree, earning them their punishment. A few days later, Quidditch practice begins. Draco is the new seeker on the Slytherin team. Draco calls Hermione a "Mudblood", which insults his Muggle family. After training, Harry hears a disturbing voice in the castle and soon after sees Filch's cat petrified and hanging near the wall where someone has written in blood: “The Chamber has been opened. The heir's enemies beware." Harry, Ron and Hermione are shocked. They investigate and discover that fifty years ago a chamber at Hogwarts was opened and a student was murdered. During the Quidditch match, Harry is hit by a magical ball which causes him to fall off his broom. He is taken to the infirmary and sees a petrified first year. When Harry gets better, he discovers that he can speak Parseltongue to snakes. Everyone is afraid of him because only the heir of Slytherin had the ability to talk to snakes. Subsequently, other students and even a ghost were petrified. Harry is confused. Harry, Ron and Hermione are determined to solve the mystery. They brew a potion called Polyjuice potion, which turns someone into a different person. Harry and Ron transform into Malfoy's friends to try to get the truth out of Draco. Malfoy is not the heir of Slytherin. For a while there were no more attacks until Harry found a.
