Acknowledgment My summer internship project at KPMG, Bangalore, was one that really enriched my practical knowledge and allowed me to apply my theoretical foundation in a corporate workplace. I was given the opportunity to learn firsthand about the intricacies of HR and HR analytics. The overall experience was very positive and I am very grateful to many that I was given this opportunity. I would like to express my gratitude to all of them because without them none of this would have been possible. Say no to plagiarism. Philip for creating such a broad curriculum and including SIP within it. The SIP gave us a glimpse into the corporate world and prepared us for what would come our way in the future, after completing the course, of course. I would like to thank my partner at KPMG, Mr. TS Subramanian for selecting me for the internship as a student of XIME and giving me the opportunity to work for such a prestigious company. I would also like to thank my HR Manager Mr. Mohit Bhatia for making my onboarding process so smooth. I would like to say a huge thank you to my manager, Ms. Shraddha Roshan, for guiding me through every step of my project and introducing me to the world of HR Analytics. He gave me a lot of knowledge. I would also like to thank my other managers Mr. Paul Matthew, Mr. Aniruddha Guha and my other colleagues for helping me in times of need, guiding me through every step and suggesting changes as and when necessary. I am extremely grateful for my guide, Dr. Deepthi Shanker, whose guidance and cooperation helped me complete the project successfully. A very special mention to Mr. Anand Srinivasan who made himself available at any time of the day to help me with tasks I was unfamiliar with. Executive Summary The primary purpose of the summer internship project is to give business school students direct exposure to the corporate structure. It offers them the opportunity to apply all the theoretical knowledge accumulated in the first year and apply it to practical situations in the workplace. It is also beneficial for students as it helps them better understand how a real organization works and carries out its day-to-day processes. With this in mind, I did my summer internship project at KPMG Bangalore from 30 April 2018 to 30 June 2018. KPMG is a tax, audit and consultancy services firm currently operating in over 155 countries worldwide and counting more of 174,000 professional members working around the world. I was recruited into the DART (Data Analytics and Reporting Techniques) team of the IT consulting department. Currently, HR analytics is the future of HR. Most companies see it as an area to improve internal operations and people management capabilities. KPMG now has an internal HR Analytics portal to monitor employees, their performance and their needs. The portal is called "ReConnect". Although using this portal has improved KPMG's overall HR processes, now KPMG wants to expand its horizons and provide HR analytics services to other companies. They have a team of excellent professionals who build the portal, understand the needs of other companies, follow the developments of competitors and innovate their technology every day.
