The Tuohys knew Big Mike from the school Collins and SJ attended at the time, Briarcrest Christian School. They knew he was poor, alone and did not come from a stable family. After Leigh Anne and Sean talked it over with the kids, the family decided to bring Big Mike into their home and have him join the family as one of their own.
