Recently the other day I watched for the first time the sequel to Shrek called Shrek 2. This movie is about how Shrek saved Princess Fiona from the Dragon Castle and then they die and end up marrying each other. Which brings us to where Fiona's parents, the king and queen of Far, Far Away, throw a wedding celebration because they heard the news of the wedding, but think Fiona is married to Prince Charming. Fiona's parents end up discovering that she has married an Orc when the married couple first shows up at the castle for their wedding celebration. Then the King goes on during the movie about how to get rid of Shrek from Fiona. What happens then is that Shrek turns into a human so that Fiona can get their love back, but Fiona wants to stay as an Ogre because she wants to live a carefree life. This movie has a great story behind it with themes of love and forgiveness, but there were a lot of jokes in the movie that were inappropriate for the PG viewing audience: aka young children. Throughout the film, Dreamworks made jokes about sexuality, drugs, and the use of foul language that is inappropriate for young children. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an original essay Shrek 2 many have scenes and characters that express sexuality. Because he insists, when we first meet the Fox, he disguises himself in a dress representing Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother. Also there were scenes where the animals teased Pinocchio as if they were taking him as if he were a child with special needs. Then the animals tried to make him tell a lie to help out, but they end up saying something true that he was wearing girls' underwear, which is not suitable for a boy or a man. Besides the Fox and Pinocchio wearing girls' clothes, there were many other examples of sex in the film. There were many examples at the beginning of the film during the honeymoon, such as Shrek and Fiona kissing and being naked in the mud pit (which represents a hot tub). In addition to that, there were many women in the film showing cleavage and making perverted comments. An example of this is during Shrek's transformation into a normal human. Women then lashed out at Shrek because of his beauty, which is not a good example for girls. The last thing related to gender and appearance is that everyone should be accepted, even if they are an Orc or not. This is expressed when Shrek and Fiona first show up at the Castle and all the people are silent because of what's outside, instead of what's inside. These did not set a good example for children when they grew up to judge. Throughout the film they make many references to drug use and theft. There are many moments in the film where characters drink alcoholic beverages. Even a situation where it is a police chase. Puss in Boots is riding a white Bronco, referencing the OJ Simpson chase, but on top of that the cops end up catching Puss in Boots and arresting him for having catnip, which stood for marijuana. Before the scene where they are captured by the police, Shrek and his partners Donkey and Puss in Boots steal a potion from the Fairy Mother God to help transform Shrek into a human. This gives rise to an image of theft that gives children the idea that it is a good thing. From this, even though Shrek uses the potion, it is not right to use potions because it gives the idea that taking something can change a person, which gives children the wrong idea. All references to drugs and theft are always bad in movies.
