She took her regular antipsychotic as her regular medicine but soon began to hallucinate and her agitation increased. I then reported to my RN friend and after looking at the medication chart for the patient, we found that the doctor had written another PRN medication for agitation control which was a schedule 8 medication. These medications are always blocked and controlled by two RNs or by an RN and an EN. Two registered nurses cannot carry out checks alone.
