Inactivated vaccines are bacteria or viruses that are killed with heat or chemicals and sometimes even radiation. These types of vaccines are used for bacteria and viruses. Examples of viral vaccines would be rabies or even hepatitis A. The common bacterial inactivated vaccine would be TDAP, which is the diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough vaccine. Unlike live vaccines, inactivated vaccines can be given to patients with weakened immune systems. Also, another pus than the live one, this one does not have to be refrigerated, so it can be sent overseas if needed.
